There are business owners and entrepreneurs who are extremely successful. Every great idea that they have, turns into gold. But what’s the secret behind the successful entrepreneur?
You can be a business owner, but that doesn’t mean that you’re also entrepreneurial. Being a business owner and being an entrepreneur are two different things. An entrepreneur has the ambition to grow with his business but he also wants to grow at a personal level. It’s all about entrepreneurship and developing yourself. It’s not about whether you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner, it’s about how entrepreneurial you are.
Everybody sees opportunities but not everyone is able to seize these opportunities. And if they’re able to take those opportunities, they don’t know how to bring it to a valuable end. That’s why a successful entrepreneur has to see chances, exploit opportunities and create value.
1) Seeing Opportunities
Seeing chances is all about what you observe in your own environment or something that you think is missing. That’s the moment for you to go for it. Everybody sees opportunities, for example when you walk by that empty warehouse and thinking what you wanna do with that. But it takes some creativity and also some market orientation to know what’s happening and what people are looking for.
2) Exploiting Possibilities
It depends on a lot of things if you’re also going to use that opportunity. It has to do with your confidence and also your courage. It’s perfectly normal to be afraid of the unknown. You don’t know if what you had in your mind, is also going to work. That can make you insecure and it’s important to know how to deal with that. Do you let yourself be guided by fear or your curiosity? And do you want to take a risk? Are you confident enough and are you aware of your own qualities and strengths? Nobody can predict the future, but you have the future by your own hands. It requires trust in your vision and perseverance.
3) Creating Value
Creating value has not only to do with money as revenue, profit or income. It has mostly to do with freedom and to be able to live independently. Creating value for the environment can also be the jobs that you’re creating with your company. But paying income and sales taxes has also to do with it. It has influence on the public treasury and the taxes that (should) be levied. It’s just how you look at it and what you think is important. So long it’s not bringing the continuity of your company in danger.
Know your strengths and weaknesses.
As an Entrepreneur you have to deal with yourself. Also at moments when it’s not going well. How much perseverance do you have to get up again when you fall? How much trust do you have in yourself? And how do you react when there’s a strong competitor in the market? How much do you trust yourself? And how much ambition do you have to push through? Entrepreneurship offers you a lot of new situations and challenges. You have to react and anticipate at it. That’s also the greatest thing about entrepreneurship. To develop yourself as a more successful entrepreneur.
